Amador County Shenandoah Valley
Located southeast of Sacramento, the region boasts being the first region in the USA where grapevines were planted. Commercial wine from this area was produced in the nineteenth century at the time of the Goldrush. The temperature is the warmest of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, since it is the lowest elevation. The high temperature produces ripe, full-bodied fruit with high alcohol.
