This is an inexpensive beer stein shaped fermentor that allows customers to dabble with homebrewing, without a big upfront investment. Plastic ferementor, Lid, Volume Sticker, Airlock, Grommet and Spigot do not come assembled. Most people have a big enough pot and spoon to brew this size batch. No additional equipment needed; just add ingredients! Holds roughly 4 gallons total; recommended for 3 gallon fermentations.

Received as a gift, wasn't sure what to make of it... but worked quite well on the first batch.

My standard go-to is the Fermonster which is made of clear, thin PET. This guy is much sturdier but semi-opaque: you can see the liquid level but not much more.

PROs: very sturdy and easy to clean. Rounded bottom for collecting trub
CONs: opaque so hard to see activity

Definite upgrade over a standard bucket, on-par with a 3-gal Fermonster
