Perhaps one of the best time saving features is the integrated 3" butterfly valve where trub can be dumped, permitting primary and secondary fermentations to take place in the same vessel. While not only saving time, it reduces oxygenation of your beer as it can be used as a totally closed pressurized fermentation system. This is especially important when making highly hopped IPA's, as they are more susceptable to oxygen degradation and contamination. After fermentation is complete, you can bottle from the same vessel using the included tubing adapter for the butterfly valve.

The advantage of the conical design is that it allows yeast & trub to flow down to the integrated collector, reducing contact with your beer and improving flavor. Yeast harvesting is easy accomplished by using the specially designed collection container.
